BUILT TO LEAD:

Shaping the Future of Architectural Woodwork.

Building the Future Together

For three inspiring days in Québec City, AWMAC members, industry partners, architects, manufacturers, suppliers, educators, and volunteers from across Canada came together to exchange ideas, strengthen relationships, and help shape the future of architectural woodwork.

Centered around this year’s theme, Built to Lead, the convention encouraged attendees to think beyond today’s challenges and explore the leadership, innovation, and collaboration needed to move our industry forward.

From thought-provoking keynote presentations and technical education to the official launch of NAAWS 5.0 and the celebration of industry excellence, the 2026 National Convention showcased the strength of our Association and the value of coming together as a national community.

Throughout the program, members heard from industry leaders on topics including artificial intelligence, manufacturing technology, architectural specifications, trade policy, workforce development, risk management, and leadership—providing practical insights they can take back to their businesses and organizations.

The Launch of NAAWS 5.0

One of the defining moments of the convention was the official launch of NAAWS 5.0, marking the next evolution of North America’s architectural woodwork standards.

Developed through years of collaboration between AWMAC, the Wood Institute, and industry volunteers, NAAWS 5.0 introduces a modern digital platform, enhanced search functionality, annual updates, and an improved user experience designed to better serve architects, manufacturers, specification writers, and the broader design community.

Thank You

A convention of this scale is only possible because of the commitment and generosity of so many people.

Our sincere thanks to our Presenting Partner, National Partners, sponsors, exhibitors, speakers, volunteers, the AWMAC Québec Chapter, Board of Directors, and staff team for making this year’s convention such a memorable success.

We also extend our appreciation to every delegate who travelled to Québec City and contributed to the conversations, ideas, and relationships that made Built to Lead such a meaningful experience.

Looking Ahead

While the convention has concluded, the momentum it created continues.

Over the coming year, AWMAC will continue advancing NAAWS 5.0, modernizing the GIS Program, expanding educational opportunities, and strengthening collaboration across Canada. We look forward to building on the energy and ideas shared in Québec City as we prepare to gather again in Manitoba in 2027.

While the convention celebrated innovation, education, and industry leadership, it also marked an important milestone in the life of the Association.

Members from across Canada gathered for AWMAC’s 2026 Annual General Meeting to review the year’s accomplishments, elect the 2026–2027 Board of Directors, receive the Association’s financial statements, and discuss the strategic priorities that will guide AWMAC into the future.
