The 2026 AWMAC Annual General Meeting brought members together to reflect on the Association’s progress over the past year while looking ahead to the opportunities shaping the future of architectural woodwork in Canada. Held during the 2026 National Convention in Québec City, the AGM provided members with updates on organizational initiatives, standards development, governance, financial stewardship, and strategic priorities before electing the 2026–2027 National Board of Directors.
Throughout the meeting, members heard how AWMAC continues to evolve alongside the changing needs of the architectural woodwork industry.

The presentations reinforced the Association’s commitment to remaining Canada’s leading authority for architectural woodwork standards, quality assurance, and industry leadership.
Members approved the 2026–2027 National Board of Directors and welcomed a new Executive leadership team that will guide the Association through the coming year.
Following the election, Ian Christie was appointed President, Jean-Stéphane Bourque Vice-President, and Tiago dos Santos Secretary/Treasurer.
The Association also thanked outgoing President Mark Whitman for his leadership and dedication throughout his term and recognized Rick Mostert for his many years of service to the National Board.
Members received and approved the Association’s 2025 Financial Statements and Review Engagement prepared by Optimize CPA.
The financial report demonstrated that AWMAC remains in a strong financial position while continuing to invest in strategic priorities, national programs, standards development, education, and organizational modernization.
The discussions throughout the AGM reflected an Association that continues to evolve while remaining firmly grounded in its mission of advancing quality, standards, and professionalism across the architectural woodwork industry.
With a new Board of Directors, the successful launch of NAAWS 5.0, continued investment in GIS modernization, and an expanding focus on education and member services, AWMAC is well positioned to build on the momentum established throughout 2026.
