Reputation and credibility are key to business success. AWMAC BC continuously strives to strengthen industry standards and improve the quality of workmanship. In partnership with members throughout British Columbia and Canada, we have achieved international recognition as industry leaders.
AWMAC BC supports a growing membership while setting the bar for our industry through commitment to the following Mission Statement and Goals.
Our Mission
AWMAC BC, an acknowledged leader in the architectural woodwork industry, upholds the highest standards of education, workmanship and business practices.
Our Goals
In order to create a better climate for their industry, millwork operators in the Vancouver area created the Mainland Millwork Association in the 1920s. In the early 60s, the Millwork Contractors Association (MCA) succeeded this group. By the late 60s, this organization expanded nationally as the Architectural Woodwork Manufacturers Association of Canada (AWMAC), with Chapters in several provinces.
In 1994, the BC Chapter of AWMAC changed its name from MCA to the Millwork Manufacturers Association of BC (MMABC). In 1997, it became the Architectural Manufacturers Association (AWMAC). Finally, in 2007, came the final name change to Architectural Woodwork Manufacturers Association of Canada British Columbia Chapter.
Today, the goal of Architectural Woodwork Manufacturers Association of Canada British Columbia Chapter is to build a credible and prosperous woodwork industry in Canada by:
